Day Camps at the Green Mountain
Audubon Center
About our Day Camps
The Green Mountain Audubon Center in Huntington, Vermont is
a beautiful 255-acre Center complete with hiking trails, meandering
brooks, forests, meadows and beaver ponds. These wild places
create the setting for Preschool Nature Camp and Ecology Day
Camp, exciting outdoor summer programs for children ages 4
to 12. Children enrolled in our camps learn about the world
around them through investigation and exploration. Plant and
wildlife studies, Vermont's cultural history, environmentally
based cooperative games, art projects, hiking and outdoor
survival skills are a sample of our camp activities.
When your child joins us for a week we
help them to understand and gain a greater appreciation of
the world around them in a fun, summer camp setting! Our day
camps begin the last week in June and run through the middle
of August. Each session of camp is one week long. Please see
our day camp brochure for more details.

Summer Staff
Audubon Vermont's Instructors are a diverse group of educators
who have worked with children in a variety of settings. Instructors
have a strong commitment to the environment and are dedicated
to providing an educational experience for your child. Our
Day Camp Interns are college students (or recent graduates)
working to fulfill academic requirements in their area of
study. They are also working to gain practical experience
as teachers in an outdoor setting. Our seasonal staff is trained
by and works closely with Audubon Vermont's full time Teacher/Naturalists
to ensure a safe and supportive environment for your child.
All staff members are certified in first aid and CPR. We maintain
a staff to child ratio of 1 to 8 for all camp sessions.
