Date: Thursday, April 10th
Where: GMAC Education Barn

Fee: $8/$6 per parent child pair; $2 ea. additional child

The warm, wet spring weather awakens amphibians from their cold winter rest. Come enjoy an interactive talk on the spring slitherers who will be making an appearance in ponds and vernal pools soon. Learn the calls of frogs and toads and test your nature detective skills at identifying some of the slickest animals in Vermont.

The Salamander Congress
Time: In the evening (TBA)
Date: 1st warm, rainy night in April
Where: GMAC Sugarhouse Parking Area
Appropriate for: Families
Fee: $8/$6 per parent child pair; $2 ea. additional child

Be on call for a chance to glimpse the elusive spotted salamander and other rain loving amphibians! Get ready to get wet! Here’s how it works: you put your name on our list and on the first warm, rainy night we will call people from the list and the first 15 folks who are available to go, will venture out into the dark to find these shy creatures and some of their not so shy relatives, as they migrate to vernal pools to mate.

The Spring Slitherers program is a great compliment to this program!
