Lake Champlain Colonial Waterbird Database Project
Great Egret

Great Egrets are similar in size to Great Blue Heron. They are known to nest at only one location on Lake Champlain. One to three pairs have nested on Four Brothers Islands since 2000. They nest amongst the Black-crowned Night Herons in some low shrubs on Island B.
