Trail Information
The Green Mountain Audubon Center, with its five miles of trails, provides a number of recreational and educational opportunities. From bird watching, hiking and relaxation by the Huntington River in the summer, to cross country skiing and snowshoeing in search of animal tracks in the winter, the trail system offers something for everyone. All trails can be accessed from the Sugarhouse Parking Area on the Huntington Rd. or the Office/Education Barn parking lot on Sherman Hollow Rd.. Trail head signs and yellow markers on the longer trails help to keep users on track. Please follow the following guidelines to create a positive experience for all trail users:

  • Trails are open every day from dawn until dusk
  • Foot travel only (including skis and snowshoes in winter)
  • Dogs are permitted on some trails as follows:
    - between Sherman Hollow Rd. and Huntington Rd.
(including Sugarbush, White Pine, and Brook trails),
      dogs permitted on leash
    - east of Huntington Rd. (including River trail and open fields),
      dogs permitted on leash
  • No dogs permited west of Sherman Hollow Rd. (including Spear, Hires, and Sensory trails)
